The Board of Directors of the Institutes for Agricultural Research and Educational Farm is allowed the establish awards and to determine the regulation of their granting in conformity with the organisational and operational rules of the University of Debrecen § 12, paragraph 8, section c), and the regulations of awards and titles of the University § 39, section 2, as well as the CCIV Law of 2011 on higher education.
The Board of Directors of IAREF founded the following awards:
- Commemorative Medal for Agricultural Research in Debrecen
- Commemorative Medal of the Institutes for Agricultural Research and Educational Farm of the University of Debrecen
- Honourable mention of the General Director of the Institutes for Agricultural Research and Educational Farm
- Scientific Gold Medal of the Institutes for Agricultural Research and Educational Farm
- Vilmos Westsik Award
- Vilmos Teichmann Award
- Ernő Vezekényi Award
